During Pandharpur Wari, we are running an awareness campaign for warakaris and citizens to use natural Patravalis and Drons for food. This campaign is getting a great response from all sections associated with wari. There are all small villages on wari marg except Pune, Phaltan and Saswad cities. These small gram panchayats are not able to properly dispose of the leaves and drones used by the Warakaris. To solve this problem, this project is being implemented by the Cummins India Foundation and five Gram Panchayats in Wari Marg, in association with Thum Creative Paryavaran Dakshata Kruti Manch. Patravalis, drones used by warakaris and nirmalya generated by devotees is collected by us. 45 workers of the organization and the staff of the concerned Gram Panchayat are working for collection. 10 vehicles are provided during the entire Wari. Drona, Patravalis and Nirmalya are collected separately and at five places along the way. They are processed with Indian cow dung and cow urine to make quality organic compost fertilizer. This fertilizer is prepared under the supervision of experts in the field of organic farming. This organic manure is then distributed free of cost to the nearby farmers.
